Great home in a great location

Great location and very clean with some great amenities! The hot tub and shuffle board were a bonus.

Our stay at Calafia Coast was wonderful! We had two families staying, both with two children each, and my mother (Nana) was along for the trip. Space: There was plenty of room for everyone with the four bedrooms, including a bunk room that the kids loved. Other reviews mention stairs and now I know why. The garage level goes up two half flights of stairs to the lower level where there is the bunk room, a king room, a bathroom, and the laundry. Then another two half flights up to the main level with the living, dining, kitchen, queen room, and king primary with a huge ensuite. Another two half flights and you are on the rooftop – which has amazing views! So, if you are bringing in luggage or groceries from the garage, it’s a bit of a hike. Bedrooms: The beds were very comfortable, and the bedding was soft. The only minor complaint was that the queen bed on the main level was very low without the box spring. All rooms except the bunk room had ceiling fans and extra fans in the closet, which we appreciated. Location: The views were gorgeous, friends who stopped by could not stop commenting on it. It is a short walk to Calafia State Park/Beach which has access to a walking path that you can take to the pier (1.3 miles from the park entrance). Again, like everywhere in San Clemente, there are elevation challenges (that’s why the views are so great!) – mainly the steps/walkway back up from the beach, could be a concern for those with mobility issues. You can drive and park down at the beach in the pay lot. Parking is challenging in the neighborhood. Street signs say 2-hour limit during the day, but there must be exceptions for residents because some vehicles didn’t move during our 5-day stay. Getting an Uber was easy though and inexpensive. General/Amenities: The kids loved the hot tub! I could not have appreciated more that it was already warm and ready when we arrived. They must have come ahead to turn on. We also used the grill (gas) on the roof, fun to dine outside with the view. I had one issue with the front lock. I texted and Vacasa had someone (Jason) over that morning. He knew right away what my user error was and couldn’t have been nicer about it. The service and response from the Vacasa team is unmatched; we were called and told our unit was ready an hour before check-in, they brought over a power strip for the kids without us even asking, and they responded immediately when we needed anything. My Mom was blown away by the service! The condo was well stocked - dish pods, laundry pods, coffee filters, and many beach/hot tub towels! Small suggestion – it would have been great to have a broom and dustpan. Sand will always come home on the kids, the vacuum provided didn’t do a great job on the hard floors. Overall a wonderful stay, I'm already looking for my next Vacasa rental!
